Refuge In The Psalms - Week 5
Are you tasting - or merely watching other eat?
David invites us to “taste and see that the Lord is good.” Have you personally experienced the goodness of God this week, or are you living off someone else’s testimony? What would it look like for you to actively week and taste the LORD’S goodness?
Are you seeing - or are you blinded by fear?
Those who looked to YHWH “were radiant” - but fear can cloud our spiritual vision. What fears are dominating your thinking right now? How might turning your gaze to YHWH change the way you see your situation?
Are you fearing YHWH - or fearing your circumstances more?
The angel of the LORD encamps around those who fear Him. What kind of reverence, awe, and trust is shaping your life? Which fear is greater: your fear of hardship, or your fear of living without God’s presence?
Are you crying out in humility - or holding it together in pride?
David called himself “this poor man.” When trouble presses in, do you cry out to YHWH with an honest, desperate heart - or do you try to manage it yourself? What would humility look like in your current struggle?
Are you striving like a lion - or seeking like a saint?
Even the strong go hungry. Where are you relying on your own ability, resources, or energy to get through life? How is YHWH inviting you this week to stop striving and instead seek Him in dependence?
