Refuge In The Psalms - Week 6
1. What does it look like for me to fear the LORD today?
David calls us to learn the fear of the LORD (v. 11). True fear of God is not cowering terror, but humble, joyful, reverent trust that results in obedience.
- What decisions today require me to act out of faith rather than fear of man?
2. Are my words reflecting a heart that fears God?
Keep your tongue from evil…(v. 13). That first visible fruit of fearing God is often heard in our speech.
- Did my words today build up or tear down? How am I honoring God with my tongue?
3. Where do I turn when I am brokenhearted or afraid?
The LORD is near to the brokenhearted…(v. 18). God’s nearness is not always felt, but it is always true.
- In my moments of anxiety or sadness, am I turning toward God or toward distraction and self-reliance?
4. What good am I actively seeking and pursuing?
Turn away from evil and do good; seek peace and pursue it (v. 14).
- God calls us not just to avoid sin but to chase goodness. What would “doing good” look like today-in my home, work, church, or neighborhood?
5. Is my refuge truly in the LORD?
None of those who take refuge in him will be condemned (v. 22).
- What am I functionally trusting in to make me feel safe, secure, or accepted? Is my life rooted in God’s unshakable promise of redemption?
